National Parks

Awash , Nethsar, Bale mountain National parks
The South tour is a paradise for the Naturalist. Amongst few are National parks – Awash National parks, Nechisar National park and Bale mountain National parks are the most popular in the far south of Ethiopia. The park has Lovely natural hot springs, and a nice campsite. You will see warthogs, oryx, gazelle, swayne, hartebeest, Lots of zebra, dik–diks (small buck), Nyalas, crocodiles, bush bucks, reedbuck, along with amazing variety of birds including marabou storks, pelicans, vultures buzzards ---- etc with out difficulty, But some wild animals lions, leopards and also elephants are seen rarely. Apart from these, lot of crocodiles, tigerfish, and hardes of hippos can be visited.

 

Ethenic Groups

There are few places in Africa untouched by western influences – the south of Ethiopia is among the few.
At the very far south of Ethiopia one can explore a unique cultures and societies. Their tradition are amongst the most untouched peoples in Africa. The mursi tribes – the woman who wear the plates in their lips – and dozen other tribes with unusual customs are seen incredibly.
People in the south still live with their time – honored traditions. The Hammer people decorate themselves with metal, The Konso are popular on their constructed terraces, and macheke village unique on their well built and picturesque. The tukul house are of thatch so finely packed and cut.

 

Crocodile Market & Lakes

One of the big draws for nechisar is the crocodile market – Named because plenty of crocodiles gathered like a local market. Lake Chamo is justifiably famous for the large number of crocodiles.

Lake Langano is situated in the natural beauty of the rift valley, It is the most pleasant place to refresh on the beach.

Lake Shalla and Abiata are found across the road from Langano which are rich in bird life. flamingos, ostriches, horn bills, pelicans and plenty of kites and hawks are found.

Awassa lakes always seems to look on the verge of taking over the town. The lake is so big and wonder full harbor for bird life.
